Thrift Store Copy of Declaration of Independence is Real. On view now in Westchester

ON VIEW NOW IN WESTCHESTER

You probably already heard the story some time last year about the guy who bought a rare copy of the Declaration of Independence at a thrift store for $2.98. Well this guy now has an historical document on his hands that is valued at $250,000 - $350,000 which he wants to sell.

White Plains rare document dealer Seth Kaller received a call earlier this week from the new owner of the thrift shop purchase, asking Mr. Keller to handle the lucrative auction of the newly discovered rare find.

The document is here in Westchester, and you are invited to take a peek at it this weekend at The Scarsdale Historical Society museum before it heads south to auction down in Burlington, North Carolina.

It's last minute, but a rare chance to view this item before it could go into private hands. While at The Society, you can also view the Documents that Changed America Exhibition that includes manuscripts written by George Washington, Abraham Lincoln, and Ben Franklin, just to name a few.

The museum is at 937 Post Road (corner Boulevard), Scarsdale. Viewing is Friday March 9th and Monday March 12th, 10am - 4pm, and Saturday march 10th, 11am - 4pm. For additional information phone 914-723-1744
