County Blurs the Lines on Google Maps
Looking at White Plains on Google Maps, you might notice that the Westchester County Center, County Office Building and the Metro North train station, bus terminal and parking garages are obfuscated (blurry). I got a good chuckle this morning when I noticed that; it seems fitting that the county has managed to contact Google and have public information removed over self-important terrorism target delusions.
If you keep browsing, there are additional locations around White Plains that have been blurred - 44 South Broadway / The Westchester Mall fer instanace. Then there's this big patch of blur where the gas pipeline and I-287 cross.
Westchester County recently updated their website, but there's still no way to find how much money the county collects or how they spend it, and it's difficult or impossible to find out what services they offer or how to apply. But you can enjoy the music and Andy Spano's fabulousness while you're visiting the county's website. Try typing "tax revenue" or "budget" into the FAQ search box.
